High school

Sunday, Dec. 15, 12:30-1:30 pm in the Garden Room

Come be a part of the next steps for our Puerto Rico mission trip, Summer 2020! All interested High School students and parents are invited to gather as we talk more about options for this exciting week of missions, discuss planning and fundraising, and chart our next steps. This trip will be a team effort — you’ll have the chance to give your thoughts as well as connect with various ways of planning and executing this trip with other Trinity students, parents and staff. Let’s see what we can accomplish together! Questions? Contact Monty Lysne.

Grades 9-12

Welcome to High School Ministry at Trinity Stillwater! We believe that Sr. High ministry shouldn’t be about youth doing programs, but youth doing ministry, and what we offer gives you a chance to gather, grow, and go out into the world to shine Christ’s light to others.

The backbone of our Sr. High Ministries are our small groups. These groups have, in many cases, been together for several years, with a caring adult leader or two in the midst of a squad of 6 – 8 kids. Groups meet during the year on their own at various places around town for breakfast, coffee, lunch—whatever suits the group best (9th grade groups still gather on most Wednesdays as they transition out of our Confirmation process). In a small group? Contact your leader for your gathering schedule. Not in a small group? Talk to a friend who is or contact Interim HS Coordinator Monty Lysne.

Along with monthly gatherings away from church, we have various small groups plan and implement a monthly large group gathering, beginning October 27 (TBA). These larger gatherings will rotate worship, service, and fellowship, giving you a chance to slow down worship one month, stretch your servant muscles with a service project another monthly gathering, or simply hang out with everyone at an off-site fun activity on another month. Again, groups will have a chance to plan and promote the rotation of events throughout the year, and most will be held on the evening of the last Sunday of the month (some exceptions).

We’re exploring the option of a Sr. High overnight retreat in Winter 2020, and our main summer 2020 trip will be a service mission trip, which will give you a full week to be of service to some people who can really use the help. The parameters of this trip are in the planning stages, with input and coordination from Sr. High kids themselves. Look for more information as we get deeper in to fall 2019.

Additional Options
Donuts and Discussion will be back on various Sunday mornings throughout the fall and winter, where whoever is available meets in the Youth Center with Monty for some, uh, donuts and discussion. These informal get-togethers happen from 10 AM – 10:30 AM on various Sundays. Look for an exact schedule from your small group leader or check back here for more.

Modeled after Middle School Summer Stretch, Senior Stretch will once again make an appearance in Summer 2020. After a great test program last summer, we’ll be back at it again, with an afternoon of off-site service, followed by an evening activity. Last year, we helped out at several local charities, and finished the night at CanCan Wonderland and the Vali Hi drive in, as examples.

We’re investigating a leadership camp option in summer 2020 and plugging interested Sr. High leaders into our 2019/2020 Children and Youth Ministry programs as well.
