And when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, “This is my body that is for you.
Do this in remembrance of me.” – 1 Corinthians 11:24 (NRSV)
This is my body given for you. I don’t know any more self-giving words in any language than those. Jesus’ love and life poured out over and over again for you.
For you. For others.
This powerful blessing and promise from Jesus, that we proclaim in bread and cup at the Welcome Table of God week after week, continues to shape the lives all of who follow him in self-giving service and being poured out for others in the world.
Embodying Faith: Small Group Leaders, Coffee Servers, Listening Friends
One of the things that I am continually inspired by and love about the church is the way that folks give of their lives generously for the sake of others. That we embody the promise that we receive from Jesus. As a church we so depend on and are always enriched by the diverse gifts of the whole people of God sharing in community.
As a small group leader. As an usher. As a coffee server. As a choir/band member. As a council member. As a quilter. As a Tuesday Guy. As a prayer partner. As a member of the Body of Christ. As a Caring Friend. As a Tanzania Companion. As a circle/group/adult learning/Ministry Team leader.

(there are so many ways that people serve at Trinity!).
Part of my most heartwarming prayers right now as we move into the Fall, and World Communion Sunday in October, are in deep thanksgivings to God for those who help make amazing ministry happen here at Trinity and the church around the world.
Who take in the words of Jesus who is for you—and live that out daily in a rich plethora of ways in being for others.
I hope that you feel filled, celebrated, and stretched to overflowing in the ways you are already serving and growing in Christ.
See you at Christ’s Table,
