WOMEN’S RETREAT: The Soul and the Pandemic

Saturday, Feb. 20, 9 to 11:30 am on Zoom

As 2020 has passed, we cautiously pin our hopes on 2021 as a promise for healing. Let’s explore our collective and

individual realities of the COVID-19 pandemic where grief, loss and change are present and real. We will examine our current emotional experiences as well as ways we construct meaning and draw upon our faith. Together, we will create ideas to move us forward in living intentional, meaningful and connected lives.

Kara Montgomery Johnson, LMFT is a family therapist, grief specialist, and educator helping professionals understand and work within grief frameworks, for themselves and in providing support to others. She provides education and retreat opportunities that focus on living well and intentionally through grief experiences. She also works as a psychotherapist at Park Nicollet, where she counsels patients and families as they learn to cope with a new cancer diagnosis, cancer treatment and difficult prognosis. She has taught human development and counseling courses as an adjunct instructor at St. Mary’s University of Minnesota and provided grief counseling at North Memorial Hospice and private practice.

Born and raised in the church (and a PK), Kara is an involved member of her ELCA church, serving on the staff support committee and leading education sessions and groups.

This retreat will be held online via Zoom, and moderated by Pastor Chris and Zanny Johnson, on Saturday, Feb. 20, from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Please email Zanny Johnson for more details and the Zoom link.
