Men
Retired Men’s Group
The Retired Men's Group is for all men who are interested in connecting with other men in living out the mission of Trinity to: love, transform, and serve.

All men are welcome to attend the Retired Men’s Group monthly meetings. The programs include devotions and prayer, a guest speaker at Trinity or tour, followed by a discussion on how the topic relates to current issues and individuals’ faith journeys. This is a great way to get to know one another and discover ways to continue fellowship between meetings. Rolls and coffee are served. A free-will offering is taken to cover costs;  additional funds are accumulated and periodically donated to a worthy cause.

Hearts of the Home Moms

Fall 2010 meeting dates:

9:15-11 a.m.

Trinity’s Lower Level
Registration Fee: $20
Child Care: $40 for one child; $20 for second child; additional children are free

Hearts of the Home Moms is an inter-denominational, Christian-based group of mothers interested in nurturing our souls and supporting each other on our parenting journeys. The group runs two sessions each year. Fall session runs September through December and Winter/Spring session runs January through May. Each session participants select from several study choices covering a wide range of topics such as parenting, marriage, spiritual growth and Bible study.

Fall 2010 Study Choices

1. The Bathtub is Overflowing but I Feel Drained
Lysa TerKuerst, mother of five and President of the Proverbs 31 Ministries, knows about the stress that comes along with parenting, managing a home, and having a life. TerKuerst shares how mothers can relieve stress when they turn to God for support, stop blaming their parenting every time a child does wrong, let kids live with the consequences of their choices, simplify life to create breathing room and quit comparing themselves to the “perfect” moms. This book overflows with practical ideas, short Bible studies, and plenty of encouragement.

2. Jesus, Interrupted
Have you ever wondered what many pastors learn about the complexities of the Bible in seminary? In his New York Times bestseller Jesus, Interrupted, scholar, professor and author Bart D. Ehrman describes what the world’s top New Testament scholars teach their students about the Bible. This is a challenging book in many respects, so please be ready to consider new ideas, examine your beliefs, and engage in respectful conversation.

3. Life Makeovers

In our busy lives as moms, it is easy to get disconnected from our true selves and what makes us happy. Using the book Life Makeovers, by personal coach Cheryl Richardson, we will take steps to a better life, one week at a time. Richardson’s essays will inspire you to make small, meaningful changes. The result: you’ll re-evaluate your life and connect to what matters most to you. This study will be light on reading and heavy on ideas, action steps and group support.

4. Yoga on the Go!

Join us for brisk walks to begin class followed by a yoga session in the park. We will combine yoga with Bible passages, working our bodies and nourishing our minds with the word of God. We will be practicing Vinyasa yoga which literally means “to place in a special way.” This is a beginner course which will flow gently, moving with our breath and focusing on alignment and holding poses. We will use scripture at the beginning and end of our practice and will follow the principles in the book Holy Yoga by Brooke Boon.

5. Stepping Up: A Journey Through the Psalms of Ascent
Longing to spend more time in God’s Word? In this in-depth Bible study, author Beth Moore shows how the book of Psalms applies to our lives today. Themes of unity, joy, gratitude, redemption, repentance, the power of blessings, and more are explored in detail. Join in a meaningful journey toward greater intimacy with God!
