Summer 2010 Pilates June 16, 23 & 30; July 7, 14 & 21 8:30- 9:30 a.m., $72 – Trinity Gym Much of our fatigue is a result of poor posture and imbalance in the body. Pilates works to align and stabilize the body so everyday movements are performed with ease and strength. By learning to properly recruit the abdominal and scapular stabilizing muscles when exercising or lifting heavy loads, one can greatly alleviate neck and back pain. Marty works with students to increase body awareness by educating them about their own bodies, and helping them find what works best for them. While there are many traditional Pilates exercises performed on the mat, she also works on strengthening the entire body by working on the stability ball and in a standing position. All levels of physical fitness are welcome as everyone is asked to take each exercise at their own pace. Bring your own mat and stability ball.
